The very last thing that I would ever suggest is that our colors have to be used in order to achieve full control over color mixing. Our main 'product' is information, not paints. All of our colors can be matched in other makes if you shop around carefully.
To give a little background, I decided to formulate our own paints because artists constantly asked which make of paint they should use with my approach to color mixing. I found that I could not recommend one make or the other. At the time a light fast violet-red was almost impossible to obtain, too many colors contained an excess of filler and colors such as Cerulean Blue were often imitated using cheaper pigments. In addition, the pigments varied depending on the media. One range of pigments being used for watercolors, another for oil paints and so on. This is still the case.
In my book "The Artist's Guide to Selecting Colors" I have tried to give the guidance which will enable you to select alternative colors should you wish to do so. I would suggest that you ensure that the colors you select are light fast and do not contain an excess of filler.
