I am wondering if you know of a method to remove staining paints. I have tried the normal lift-off method, which has worked up to a point, but the paint is still visible. I would prefer not to have to start the painting all over again.

I dropped the brush accidentally and spattered Winsor& Newton (Cotman range) Turquoise 654 which consists of Phthalocyanine Blue and Green, on my painting.

Also, if you know of a way of removing Permanent Magenta it would be helpful.

In desperation, on a separate piece of paper, I tried using dilute Hydrogen Peroxide and also Chlorine Bleach but to no avail.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Michael Wilcox for his work. I have been using his book "Blue and Yellow Don't Make Green" for years. Also his book on the finest watercolor paints is invaluable.

Unfortunately I have not found any way to remove such staining. As the actual paper fibers are stained throughout, the paper cannot be made white again.

Even if the bleach had worked it might have severely damaged the paper, probably turning it brown over time. I am pleased that you have found my books to be of help in your work, it is very encouraging to receive such feedback.
