I was born in Melbourne, Australia, then raised on a hobby farm in rural Victoria. I was essentially a self-taught painter until I became a university student of the Victorian College of the Arts. Highlights of artistic career include exhibiting work at the National Gallery of Victoria on two occasions and being part of an exhibition that toured several major regional galleries in Victoria. I have also been commissioned to paint numerous portraits of people, pets, livestock and horses but have recently decided to limit commissioned work in preference for developing my creative art.

In my most recent series: 'Face Navigation', I have used the fluidity of watercolour painting to express a personal perception of self and others. There is an awareness of the universal human condition through facial expression, and in some cases I create a progression of images, exploring the changing perception of a person by deconstructing facial recognition. As there is a shift over time in attitude or mood, there is a corresponding shift in visual interpretation.
